Since 1969, Knox Technical Center has been equipping students with lifelong skills and relevant careers for Knox County and beyond. They are the post-secondary adult education branch of the Knox County Career Center school district. Their programs include the fields of Allied Health, Business, Cosmetology, Industrial Trades, Nursing, and Public Safety.
Their central building staff reached out to Capital Choice to help modernize and update their main lobby. They were looking for a space for students to relax and collaborate during their breaks and between classes. After a few site visits, revised floor plans, and input from different faculty members, we came up with a versatile solution that provides the aesthetic and function they were seeking. We also assisted Knox Technical Center’s Nursing department, which resides in a separate building, to update their lobby furniture. Their goal was quite opposite of the central building. They already have a collaborative lounge for students, and were just interested in modernizing their furniture, while also providing a space to display their plants and brochures. We worked alongside their administrative staff to find a solution that both accentuated their accent wall and provided timeless appeal.
